We are proud to be partnering with Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation this weekend (12-14 February) for the Breakthrough Community Round.

It is an extremely important organisation and we are happy to support them in their endeavour to raise much needed funds to continue vital research in the mental health space. Everyone knows someone who has suffered from or has a mental illness, and the work being done by Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation is instrumental in supporting those members of our community struggling in this area.

Baseball SA have registered to support this initiative and are asking all baseball clubs this weekend to jump on board and share our fundraising page to make a difference. We would like to encourage all members who donate to make sure you leave a message stating which club you are from as this will ensure Baseball SA will be able to support your club in providing nationally accredited Mental Health First Aid training to one or two of your members.

HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM TRIALS

Registrations are now open for the 2021/22 Baseball SA High Performance Program.

If you're wishing to trial, please follow the below link, read all the program information and complete the registration form.

Trials are open to 14-18yr olds and will be held on Saturday 6 March, 9am - 12pm at West Beach.

UMPIRING ACCREDITATION

If you live in the west and are interested in umpiring - this is for you!

The next community umpiring course is 6pm, Wednesday 24th February at Woodville Baseball Club.

This is a great opportunity and possibly the last this season in the western area for you to get your accreditation both for this season and in preparation for next season.

There are 3 steps to getting accredited:

- Completing the Online General Principals course

- Attending practical session

- Completing Online Quiz

All of your umpires are required to have a current Working With Children check.

BSA STAFF CHANGE

After 3 years with Baseball SA as Pathways and Development Manager, Tyrone Hambly has made the difficult decision to finish his time in the BSA office. 

He will continue to work with Baseball SA in a contracted role to assist in the successful delivery of the SA State Charter Championships, Australian Women's Champship and Australian Junior League Championship in 2021.

Tyrone has had a huge impact in baseball coaching at the state and national level, Super League, charter and participation pathways, and we wish him all the best as he pursues external opportunities.

We thank Tyrone for his contributions to baseball in SA and no doubt with his passion and love of the game, we will continue to see him engaging and assisting our programs.

COACHING ACCREDITATION

Attention all coaches; USA Baseball has opened registration for the Level C Certification for coaching in Australia. This can be accomplished by first completing both Level A and B certifications online prior to beginning your Level C. After you complete the online portion of the workshop, you will need to attend one of USA Baseball’s Virtual Community Coaching Clinics. Times and dates for these virtual clinics can be found on their website or by following 'read more'.
