ESPORTS

It was an exciting week as we saw our first MLB the Show 20 State of Origin clash against Baseball NSW, where we saw 5 of the best from each state selected for a best of 5 game series. Our representatives were Alex Ferguson (Onkaparinga Cubs), Dylan Howarth (Goodwood), Tom Wickens (Henley and Grange), Travis Schreier (Gawler) and Nathan Schreier (Gawler).

After the first two games the series was locked up at one a piece as we saw Alex fall short losing game 1 1 -4 while Dylan tied the series up in game 2 winning 6 – 4 with a strong 6th innings performance.

Game 3 was one way traffic from the start with Tom  giving up a grand slam in the first inning and was unable to recover going down 1 – 8. Game 4 was a very high soring affair with Travis walking it off in the 9th winning 13 -12, a grand slam in the middle inning came up huge as it gave Travis the momentum to complete the comeback and tie up the series 2 – 2.

This then lead to the biggest game with the winner of the top seeded players giving their state the crown of this State of Origin clash. Nathan coming into this match up was undefeated in our most recent competition and current champion had all of BSA cheering him on but unfortunately couldn’t take home the chocolate which gave the series to Baseball NSW 3 – 2.

With the success of the series, look out for our next competition to see who will be our next lot of representatives in the next State of Origin.
