STATE DEVELOPMENT CAMP

Baseball SA invites all eligible prospective state team athletes to showcase their skills at our State Development Camp on 28 - 30 September 2021.

With the current COVID-19 situation in the Eastern states, it is expected that the Australian Youth Championships may be postponed which will also cause our official state trials to be delayed. However, we would like to use this opportunity to showcase your talent to all prospective State Coaches prior to the trials, test your skills and seek guidance from coaching staff on what to work on in the lead up to the team trials.

Players must be registered with their club prior to the development camp.

To be eligible for this age category, players must be born between the below dates:

Under 16: 1 January 2006 - 31 December 2008
Under 18: 1 January 2004 - 31 December 2005

Camp Format:
Day 1 - Testing
Day 2/3 - Games

CHALLENGER DIVISION

We are excited to be hosting our first Challenger Division come and try on Tuesday, 5 October at West Beach with plans for a tournament to begin November/December 2021.

Challenger Division is an adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical or intellectual challenges.

The division accommodates players ages 4-18yrs, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school.

Flexibility and adaptability are key during Challenger games, involving the use of buddies to assist Challenger athletes in the areas of batting, base running and defence as needed.

We will be holding 2 come and try sessions for any interested participants on Tuesday 5 October.

Morning session: 10:00am - 11:30am
Afternoon session: 1:00pm - 2:30pm

If you have any questions regarding these sessions or eligibility, please get in touch with the Baseball SA office on (08) 8331 2675.

LITTLE LEAGUE DIVISION 2

This year we will see our Development competition at State Charter Championships dissolve and we will now be following Baseball Australia's Little League Division 2 competition. We will still have our three charter teams (Marlins, Rays and Seahawks) and will still be played at State Charter Championships where one team will be entered into the Australian Little League Division 2 Championships.

To qualify for these charter teams, a player must participate in 60% or more of the games scheduled in the SABL Little League Division 2 competition - this means that a club must have an LLD2 team entered in SABL competition to qualify.

More information from Baseball Australia on LLD2 is being released mid to late October.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with Giang - pathways@baseballsa.org.au
