NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK

It’s National Volunteer Week, and we want to take this opportunity to thank all the incredible volunteers that help make our sport such a success.

Scorers, Umpires, coaching staff, those that help run the canteens, bars, and keep the grounds looking fabulous - the list goes on!

We are so lucky to have such fantastic people at each of our clubs, helping drive the sport we all love and building it to be bigger and better.

Thank you for giving your time and energy to supporting our players and families to make the baseball community such a special one.

ESPORTS

Round one of our Esports tournament kicked off with a bang this week, with 16 players representing their local club, facing off in Baseball SA's first MLB The Show Esports League.

We welcomed participants from West Torrens, Henley & Grange, Gawler, Adelaide, Northern Districts, Southern Districts, Goodwood, Glenelg, Woodville, and Winterball teams, Onkaparinga and The Bears.

The first round gave us some very close games, going down to the wire, with a couple ending in walk-offs and 4 players taking advantage of the double elimination rule - surviving round one and advancing to round two.

The second round match-up (complete round listing below) of Tom Wickens (Henley & Grange) v Harry Leaker (Glenelg) will be live streamed on Baseball SA's Twitch at 6pm tonight (Friday, 22 May). Jason Curry (Northern Districts) will also live stream his match-up on Twitch, once his opponent has been decided.

  Local Business

LOCAL BUSINESS

PPI Promotion & Apparel are Adelaide’s leading promotional and event merchandise company.

Over the past 5 years they have seen some good growth working with local companies big and small on their brand development. Ensuring logos and brands are well promoted on quality merchandise, using locally and international sources.

"Our business is built around events, conferences, staff incentives and brand launches so when the world went into lock down and uncertainty, businesses similar to PPI became very quiet almost instantly." - Craig Watts

"If you own or manage a business, and just want to have a chat, please feel free to call me to discuss anything you want about what’s going on. We need to support one another through our amazing baseball network."

Let's get behind our local businesses during this difficult time.

If you own a local business and would like us to share your details, please get in touch with Laura - events@baseballsa.org.au
