2025 PROSPECTS SELECT IS BACK!
Baseball SA is proud to announce the return of the Prospects Select U16/U18 program—an elite 12-week development opportunity tailored for athletes targeting the 2025 Australian Youth Championships (AYC). Designed to provide a high-performance training environment, the program is open to players born in 2008–2011 and is structured to give athletes a significant advantage ahead of upcoming State Team trials.

Professional-Level Coaching & Structure
Led by Baseball SA’s State coaching staff, with support from current National Team, ABL and State League players and coaches, the program delivers advanced instruction mirroring the skills, strategies, and mindset required at representative level. Participants will benefit from:
* Data-driven assessments
* Position-specific skill refinement
* Game simulation and situational training
* Strength and conditioning (including gym sessions)
Three Progressive Training Phases
The program is structured across three key development stages:
* **Phase 1: On-Ramp (Weeks 1–4)** – Emphasis on physical prep, arm strength, bat speed and injury prevention.
* **Phase 2: Skill Development (Weeks 5–8)** – Focused instruction in pitching, hitting, defence, pitch design and game strategy.
* **Phase 3: Game Phase (Weeks 9–12)** – Live-game scenarios and competitive simulations to build decision-making under pressure.
Sessions run Tuesdays and Thursdays, commencing Tuesday 8 July and concluding Tuesday 23 September.

Prospects Select U16 Trial (Born 2010–2011):
Tuesday 24 June
6:00–8:00 PM: Data Testing
8:00–9:00 PM: Pitching Machine Game
Prospects Select U18 Trial (Born 2008–2009):
Thursday 26 June
6:00–8:00 PM: Data Testing
8:00–9:00 PM: Pitching Machine Game
Registrations close 9am Monday 23rd June
***All players, regardless of prior involvement in BSA programs are required to attend the relevant trial session to be considered for selection.***
Final selections will be communicated via email by Friday 27 June, with registration and payment information included.
Program Cost
To meet the demand of participants wanting to trial there will be a $20+BF&GST fee to trial.
The Prospects Select is a pay-to-play program. Full program costs will be disclosed upon selection with flexible payment options to suit player/family needs.
Why Join?
While participation in Prospects Select does not guarantee selection to the South Australian State Team, it is a highly valuable pathway. Athletes in the program will be training under the very coaches involved in AYC team selection, gaining experience and visibility that could make a crucial difference when trials take place later this year. Importantly, State Team trials are open to all eligible athletes, regardless of Prospects participation.
