BASEBALL SA CALL FOR SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING
We advise that the South Australian Baseball League’s, trading as Baseball SA, has scheduled a Special General Meeting to be held on Monday 30 June, commencing at 6:30pm at Sport SA.
The major call for action being acceptance of constitutional changes which include:
Changes to Board Composition: Reduction of Elected Directors from six to three, and an increase of Appointed Directors from two to three, ensuring the Board retains a member-elected majority while introducing the expertise required to meet the demands of a growing sport.
Updated Term Limits: Extension of term limits for both President and Elected Directors from two terms to three, aligning with best practice and acknowledging the limited pool of suitable, available candidates.
Modernisation of Processes: Formal inclusion of digital voting, virtual meetings, and electronic means of communication to better reflect the current operating environment and improve accessibility and efficiency.
These constitutional changes are integral for:
Aligning Baseball SA’s governance with best practices for state sporting bodies,
Strengthening the expertise and functionality of the Board, and
Ensuring Baseball SA is well-positioned to grow and evolve with modern systems and practices.
Ideally, these changes will be passed prior to the 2025 Annual General Meeting.
Any special business submissions for this meeting must be sent to the James Rawson, General Manager electronically in writing 21 days prior to the AGM, being 9 June.
We also request that all RSVPs for voting members and guests be provided via electronic form or in writing to the office prior to close of business 7 days prior to the meeting, being Wednesday 23 June 2025.
