EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST OPEN FOR 2026 AYC
Baseball SA is excited to announce that Expressions of Interest are now open for coaching positions for the 2026 Australian Youth Championships (AYC) in the U16 and U18 age groups.
This is an incredible opportunity to be part of a prestigious national tournament and play a key role in guiding the next generation of South Australian baseball talent toward success on and off the field.
Coaches who STRIVE create a positive, high-performance environment that supports player development, fosters collaboration, and pursues continuous improvement.
S – Skilled
Experienced in baseball coaching, with strong knowledge of the game’s strategies and dynamics. Able to translate game understanding into effective development sessions and in-game decision making.
T – Team-oriented
Team players who collaborate effectively with other coaches, staff, and support personnel. Understand the importance of shared goals and clear communication in high-performance environments.
R – Reliable
Available to participate in all preparation activities, including off-season programs, training sessions, and tournament commitments. Consistently show up prepared and dependable.
I – Invested
Player-focused, with a commitment to technical skill development and personal growth. Dedicated to building trust and supporting the individual journey of every athlete.
V – Vision-driven
Passionate about developing young athletes and creating a positive, forward-thinking team culture. Motivated by long-term goals, with a focus on building sustainable success.
E – Eager to grow
Willing to participate in coaching development opportunities, including a series of game simulations (details to come). Open to feedback, reflective practice, and continuous learning
Off-season programs will play a vital role in assessing and developing athletes, and coaches will be expected to actively participate in these to help shape the final squads.

State Pathways Program July through September
U16 and U18 State Team trials; end September
Extended squad trainings; October
Finalised squad by November 1
Squad trainings November through first week January
Australian Youth Championships mid January
