Welcome New Diamond Sports Chairperson

We are excited to announce the newly elected Diamond Sports SA Chairperson, Jake Parkinson.
Diamond Sports SA Incorporated is the operating and maintenance body of the West Beach complex. They are also responsible for partnering Softball and Baseball in the facility in order to work collaboratively.
Parkinson is currently the General Manager Business Development and Marketing with Bardavcol Civil Engineering and Construction which is a change of industry for him, having been in beer and sport industry prior to this. Before this, Parkinson was CEO at the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) for 6 years from 2014 to 2020. Whilst in this role, he gained relevant experience into sports leadership along with stadium operations as SANFL is a joint venture operator of the Adelaide Oval with the SACA through the Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority (AOSMA).
Parkinson is an avid baseball and softball fan, having watched plenty of games between the sports at the facility. He also has been involved with the Sturt Baseball Club, however only ever on the spectator side of the fence.
“(My aspiration in this position is) to lead a united board and partner the Softball and Baseball SA administration to deliver a facility which is sustainable and continuously improving,” Says Parkinsons.
Parkinson went on to say “…this way DSSA facilitates to cater to both elite pathways and greater participation for players, coaches, umpires and spectators in both Baseball and Softball for years to come.”
We are excited to have him on board with a fresh and positive outlook on the future of the Diamond Sports facility.
