MESSAGE FROM BASEBALL SA

6 APRIL 2020

Update Monday, 6 April 2020 10:00am

Baseball South Australia has been monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and the constant changing landscape that we are all experiencing. The health, welfare and safety of our community is paramount and as such we are guided by the regular updates and restrictions from the Australian Health Department and SA Health.

Further to the updates provided on the 23rd March 2020, Baseball South Australia would like to advise the community that all staff will continue to work from home offices until Friday 1st May 2020. We do not see any need for the staff to return to the office at West Beach until this date.

At this stage the ban on all baseball activities for all clubs and associations remains in place, including training, meetings, events, tournaments and competitions.

As previously advised, all staff will be available via email and phone, with the normal office phones being redirected. Staff will NOT be attending any meetings in person. For all staff contact details head to the Baseball SA website.

Baseball South Australia will continue to work with the Winterball Association and will update the community when a likely start date has been discussed, again this will be determined based on advice from the National and State health departments.

At this stage there is no indication on when, if at all, the Open Women’s, Youth Women and all 4 Little League National Events will be played. They are all remain postponed and again, we will update you more on these events as information comes to hand. Stay updated with all media releases from Baseball Australia HERE.

Baseball SA will continue to work through the refund process for all events and tournaments that have been cancelled or postponed. If you have any queries regarding the refunds please email events@baseballsa.org.au.

As you are all aware there are a number of state and federal funding initiatives to support businesses, individuals and not for profits. Please see the below links containing resources that may assist you in your current situation:

We urge the baseball community to adhere to the restrictions in place and review all health information available.

You can find information on how to keep yourself and your family safe and healthy HERE from SA Health.
