Today, Friday May 19th, we hosted the second annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Oceanique Restaurant. We had over 100 guests to celebrate the 15 inductees.
This year we had 15 inductees from 2 (two) different categories:
General Section (5 Nominees)
Have given at least 20 years of outstanding service to the game of Baseball in South Australia in one or more of the roles of player, coach, umpire administrator, media contributor or volunteer;
Not have played a Division 1 game in any competition in South Australia in the preceding three years.
Heritage Section (10 Nominees)
A nominee must have given extraordinary service to the game of Baseball in the past in ways that have significantly advanced the interests of Baseball in South Australia. Nominees to the Heritage Section may include ABF Hall of Fame inductees, MLB players or others whose career in Baseball has taken place wholly or partly outside of South Australia but which have had a prolonged impact on the game in South Australia.
Thank you to all the individuals and associations for recognising the hard work and dedication our inductees have made to the community and hence, putting their nominations forward. Narrowing the nominations down was not an easy task for the Heritage Committee and Board, so we would like to thank them for their efforts. We’d also like to thank the Heritage Committee for the general organisation of the evening.
